Who are we?
Le Bord de l’Eau was first a literature review founded in 1993. It then gradually established itself as a well-known regional publishing company, both in France and abroad. Today our editorial line, mainly focused on social sciences, is meant to be educational, fixed in the present in order to make the past more comprehensible, to understand the world and contribute to “faire société” (make society) according to Jaurès. “Transforming the world” and/or “changing life” according to both Marx and Rimbaud – here are the original ideas from which our books try to grow. We don’t overlook the demand for meaning nor the collective building of meaning. We want to propose texts that can be read, rediscovered and provide resources for intellectual resistance in a world which claims to be univocal too often. I am what I do” wrote Castoriadis... With our books we simply wish to contribute to the building of a “collective being” acting as much as possible with “open eyes”.
