Voies du Politique Series
by Serge Audier and Philippe Chanial
These series contribute to the theoretical thinking and public debate by bringing in French and mostly foreign texts providing conceptual tools and historical perspectives for the understanding of the current social and political transformations. The collapse of communism, the crisis of the neoliberal paradigm, the environment concern, the transformations of democracy, the multicultural debate etc. initiate new questionings demanding an intellectual renewal. These series are willing to contribute to this by arguing international major texts as well as previously unpublished texts. Concerned by both understanding the great ideological evolutions of our times (from neo-conservatism to Third Way) and their new practises (participatory democracy, new models of solidarity) it fuels the thinking without any dogmatism nor marginalization, through a multiplicity of approaches likely to feed the debate. In this respect a large part will be dedicated to translating works which have a significant place in the international debate although they are still widely unknown in France.
This double approach, focused on the transformations of the global ideological landscape and the renewal of social and political practices, will contribute to feed the thinking of the future of the left-wing/right-wing division and the means of rejuvenation of the French and international left-wing facing the new challenges (social, environmental, cultural...) of today’s and tomorrow’s world.
